Twenty-five subtly swaying columns and an expansive, lightweight canopy define an open, shaded space designed to invite exploration and comfort.
The 11th edition of the X-Site project, titled Analogue Forest(Lin Mu Lin), transforms the plaza into an immersive architectural and artistic experience. Designed by the team at Office One Senses (OOS), the installation draws inspiration from the layered shelter of flourishing tree canopies, blending architectural motifs with the physical sensation of walking through a forest. This "Forest in the Square" seeks to redefine the interaction between art, environment, and public space.
Drawing from the Taipei Fine Arts Museum’s collection, specifically Near Yuanshan by Kuo Hsueh-Hu, the project also features a series of public events titled The Forest Flora Program. Three interdisciplinary artists were invited to explore the installation site and reinterpret its forest analogy through the lenses of visual expression, sound creation, and sensory experience. This initiative extends the metaphor of the forest, offering new ways to perceive and engage with the art and space.
